We achieve this by focussing on: 

Energy management

  • Lights and equipment are switched off when not required and heating controls accurately set
  • We choose venues with good natural light and set lighting level at events to lowest level practical

Data and IT Resource Management

  • Efficient Use of Digital Resources: At Mountain-7, we actively manage our digital infrastructure to maximize energy efficiency and minimize our carbon footprint. This includes optimizing data storage, using cloud services responsibly, and ensuring that our servers and data centers are as energy-efficient as possible.
  • Eco-Friendly IT Practices: We prioritize the use of eco-friendly hardware and encourage the recycling or refurbishing of electronic equipment. By choosing hardware with a longer life cycle and promoting repair over replacement, we aim to reduce electronic waste significantly.
  • Remote Work and Digital Collaboration: To reduce the need for physical travel, Mountain-7 leverages digital collaboration tools and supports remote working arrangements. Employees are equipped with the necessary tools to work effectively from home, reducing our overall carbon footprint and fostering a better work-life balance.
  • Smart IT Procurement: We are committed to procuring IT resources that are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. Our procurement decisions take into account the sustainability practices of our suppliers and the lifecycle impact of the products and services we use.
  • Green IT Training and Awareness: We believe in empowering our employees with knowledge on green IT practices. Regular training and awareness programs are conducted to ensure our team is knowledgeable about sustainable IT practices and motivated to implement them.

Waste management

  • We communicate, invoice, do our banking and store documents electronically
  • We print only where 100% necessary
  • Stationary and scrap paper is re-used
  • Waste paper, card, plastics, metals, glass, batteries and ink cartridges are recycled using licensed waste carriers. Food waste from our office and events is composted
  • We avoid single use plastics and disposables such as sugar sachets or individual milk pots
  • We ask event participants to help minimise waste by not giving out printed materials apart from business cards and we give bags to event participants to take food away at the end

The way we Travel, Commute

  • We travel by public transport to events, site audits and meetings. When this is not possible, we car-share and co-ordinate meetings to minimise the number of journeys required
  • We select event venues that are easily accessible by public transport
  • Employees have the option and are provided the equipment to work from home

Procure our products / services

  • We select products made from recycled materials, including paper, tea-towels and glass jugs
  • We source vegetarian, local and Fair Trade food and refreshments for events
  • Energy efficiency is a priority when purchasing electronic equipment
  • Suppliers, including banking and insurance, are selected on their environmental credentials
